I need some advice and rather hear feedback from "real" people rather than continuing to read reviews into oblivion.
I'm looking for a tablet for my soon-to-be four year old son, who is on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal, but we believe high-functioning otherwise. He LOVES computers, especially anything touch screen. They use iPads in his classroom, but I cannot afford nor do I think it's wise to give a four-year-old an iPad.
We were trying to find a low-cost version of an Android tablet. We currently have a Pandigital Novel, but it's giving me nothing but headaches and it's really non-responsive. I stopped by Best Buy last night and talked to someone there. I really like the Samsung products, but it's a bit cost-prohibitive. I didn't know if anyone knew of a "quality" tablet that I might try. I want it to be easy to update (firmware, apps, etc.), something that can play videos and learning apps, and small enough for a four-year-old to comfortably handle. Battery life is a consideration as well, since he gets upset when I have to take the unit away from him to charge it.
Thank you all very much.
