A few days ago I've got two "puck" wireless chargers off eBay. Giving that I was planning to use them in the car for Nexus 5, I also added 4 small (10 mm diameter, 2 mm thickness) magnets to one of them and glued it onto a small sheet of Aluminium.
Problem was that after a few days (while I was modeling and painting the sheet) I noticed that the charger was not working anymore. The LEDs are flashing when powering it up, but the charging doesn't start. I hooked the coil to a oscilloscope and noticed that there's only the repetitive signal while the charger is just powered on. The variable signal that appears when the charging takes place doesn't appear anymore.
Now the problem is that I have no clue where to start. These wireless chargers seem to be a little too new and the information is rather scarce on the internet (at least about their electronics).
Any help into fixing this charger would be greatly appreciated! Thatks!
