Phone went through washer machine- Works but there are hiccups. Any suggestions?
In the rush of the day, I threw my load of laundry into the washer machine-phone in hand. I realized my mistake about 10 minutes into cycle, but it was already too late. I pulled my phone apart, submerged it in rice, and waited all night.
It struggled to power on the next morning, and then died. It would not power on. I had presumed forever, and started to make other plans. However, after charging it for a little bit, it sprung back to life! It has been working pretty consistently, until now.
-It will randomly die. I'm assuming maybe a battery change is in order, so I was going to start there. It is usually random, however if I bump it against anything it will die EVERY time.
-It falls in and out of service. It will lose service in places that it never had problems connecting before.
-The volume buttons on the back do not work AT ALL. It responds to the power button, however.
Everything else works fine; camera, music, apps, etc. Connects to Bluetooth fine. No weird glitching, except the occasional keyboard freak-out; the screen has a weird discoloration post-incident, so I am assuming the freak-out is due to a malfunctioning screen.
I don't know a single thing about phones, or where to start.
Thanks in advance!
